Right, so the little bottlecap of ground cloves I left as an offering? SPILLED. I had to mini-vacuum my altar! I'm bet the devas are just thrilled with that. Not to mention I am procrastinating so hard on the puja. Maybe I'll wait until the parents go to bed, since they have a habit of walking in one me at the least opportune times.
On the upside, Kohai is joining me for Samhain tomorrow. ^_^ We went trick-or-treating together today. It's so lolarious...I'm 19 and she's 17, and we're walking around the town talking about gynecological exams while knocking on people's doors and asking for candy. Most of my candy is going to my Astronomy class tomorrow, seeing as I can't eat milk chocolate anymore...
The little church around the corner from me was handing out candy, too, which surprised me. Of course, they came with a little promotional leaflet. But it was all like "please accept Jesus into your heart because he wuvvles you" and not so much with the "OMFG HALLOWEEN IS EEEEEEEEEEEEBUUUUUUUUUUUUL" that my last church did, so I wasn't so annoyed. They even gave a little history on Halloween and totally didn't even bother mentioning the pagan aspect, just starting with when it became All Hallow's Eve. So I at least know they aren't Puritan, since Puritan's hate saint's day.
Speaking of Saint's Days, today is St. Marcellus the Centurion, patron saint of conscientious objectors. He was martyred for refusing to make pagan sacrifices or serve in the military, since his allegiance to Christ came before both.
