I FUCKING HATE THE WHOLE "ZOMBIE JESUS" BULLSHIT. I say this as someone with that icon I'm using >.> I also say this as someone who was once so Jewish that she couldn't listen to half of the songs by Celtic Woman. I don't care who believes what but I think it is REALLY disrespectful and just plain rude.

Speaking of Jesus, I didn't watch "Jesus Christ Superstar" today, which depresses me as that is something of a tradition :/ I did end up watching "The Sound of Music" though. Which means I have to go download the TSoM soundtrack, because "Something Good" is SO TsuSoka, and "Sixteen Going On Seventeen" would make the most adorable Hisoka+Tsubaki vid.

Speaking of TsuSoka, I'm sorry gift!fic still isn't finished. It's getting there, I promise.

I've found out that I put my niece to sleep ^_^ I got to hold her twice today and she fell asleep both times. Heehee, I wuv that wittle baby girl. :3 And I am a natural with her, apparently, since I know just how to get her to stop fussying (stand up and bounce her) and I make noises that make her smile. I know I have people on my flist who don't like kids, but I agree with Bel's mom's assesment that holding a baby is the greatest feeling in the world. I can't wait until six or seven years pass and I adopt my own ^_^ My little Indonesian baby named Hilde Abigail (lol)...

Going back to Jesus, I have a lovely little Easter song to share. Imagine it from the point of view of a believer wishing for the Second Coming.

"Prayer Given by the Right Reverend V. Gene Robinson at the Opening Inaugural Event", which was cut because he's gay and HBO sucks ass

ALL RIGHT! I'm going to bed. MomandDad will probably wake me up sometime at ass o'clock to go down to the hospital. I'm missing an English class but I already e-mailed the professor so hopefully it will all be cool.

THIS MIGHT BE IT!!

Warwa called me not long ago to say that Bel is experiencing contractions. Given that the baby was due yesterday, there's a pretty good chance that the contractions are for real and we'll have a baby soon!

I will keep everyone posted. And of course there will be picture!

Checking In To Let You Know I Haven't Died

I haven't been able to start on the next spork :( Lack of time and motivation seems to be doing it. Don't worry, though, I fully intend to finish them before I transfer to another school (fall next year).

Been busy making shit for people for Christmas. The green scarf I was working on sorta decided it didn't want to be a scarf, and the material keeps spiraling. So I'm just gonna finish the line, stitch the two ends together, and make it a cowl. Hope Tess'll like it...I found a different pattern for a black scarf that I'm making for Joe, and I'm excited about it because when its done I'm going to stitch "RCE", the initials of the band, across it in the band's colors. The problem is it's a true labor of love, because it's 336 stitches and single crochets all the way across, which means it'll take a fuck of a long time to finish and there's a real danger of Repetitive Stress Syndrome.

And I still have two latch-hooks to finish, one a big Wolf and the other a FUCKING HUGE Rose. Poor Lynn-chan...I've been asking her to latch-hook while I crochet when we're hanging out on campus, and she's wound up practically doing the rose for me. She's my BFF for a reason, I guess. The wolf is about 2/3 finished. I want that done by December 5th for Shae-chan's birthday, and then I can buy her something for Christmas. The rose is for my friend Hello Ass, whose real name it...Rose. I totally wouldn't give it to her except she said she actually really liked roses, so there you go.

I did finish latch-hooking the faceside of the Frog pillow I'm making for Legsy (Warwa and Bel's name for the baby since they don't want to know the sex), though. All Daddy needs to do is stitch some material behind it and stuff it. Bel loves frogs, which is why I picked that pillow to make. It matches nicely with the blanket Mommy crocheted. Yeah, I'm 19 and I still call my parents Mommy and Daddy. Warwa's 30 and she does, too. Hell, Mommy's 50 and she'll refer to her own mother (and herself) like that. We're an affectionate family.

And yes, I'm working on the fic for you guys :)

Work is being a bitch. I'm only working 4 hours this wekk, and 8 and 3/4 next week. Sure they'll be plenty of hours in the coming weeks, Cheryl. Sure.

My comma button is sticking and annoying the crap out of me. My English class is not sticky, but also annoying the crap out of me. I feel like I'm in 7th grade again. I can't wait for next semester when we're actually studying literature again.

OH! Yeah, I also moved into Fooshie's room, considering she moved to Queens and all. I love it~ <3. So much more room! Talk about labor of love...we had to put on new borders, clear out the shelves in the closet, build a chifferobe, replace the door, build a new bookshelf, and oh yeah, paint it. It's a pretty pale pink now, though its got a purple tone. Excellent, since the carpet is purple. It's a very girly room. I'll take pictures of it when I'm finished moving my crap in.

Warwa's old room is going to be painted the same color, since we bought too much of the pink. Mommy and Daddy are moving their excess crap to my room and then painting their room yellow. I think the only room left with white walls is going to be the utility room. And maybe the porch once we fix that up.

Speaking of the porch I'm not sure Miss Maxi remembers what it looks like, since she's been sleeping with me. She was very confused when I switched rooms, but apparently home is where my bed is, so she's not pining for the old room. She's sleeping on my bed right now. So cute. She's losing a lot of weight :( She's getting older...I think she's about 11 now. It's a little worrying (she just made a noise so I think she knows I'm writing about her). Lizzy on the other hand is just getting fatter. She used to be so skinny when she lived with my grandma.

Anything else important...not really. I need to start moving my crap in, take a shower, go to Astronomy, go winter clothes shopping because I have no pants or winter tops and went out yesterday in 30 degree weather in a skirt and T-shirt, and then go to dance.

EVEN MOAR RELIGION

Just the other day I asked My Sexy Lover, who's Jewish, where one would go about buying a menorah. She said she didn't know, since hers is ancient and presumably an heirloom.

Well, my folks and I went to Linens 'n' Things today because they're going out of business and having a sale, and guess what I found? A menorah. And accompanying candles. So apparently retail home goods stores are where you go about buying a menorah.

I also bought a 2009 calendar featuring 1950s/60s photos of nuns doing silly things, with accompanying captions. Personal fave: a group of nuns huddling around a campfire with the caption "After the Vespers the council will decide who gets voted off the island". LOLZ. I needed a calendar solely dedicated to the holidays of various religions, and I figured "Nuns Having Fun" was an appropriate motif.

I also got two hanging wall tablets with the kanji for love and harmony written on them, respectively. They can't go up yet until I move into my sisters' old room, though.

And we went pumpkin picking today, so in conjunction with the votive candles I bought I'm almost ready for the Samhain ritual on the 31st. It'll be nice to have no trick-or-treaters to interrupt. (In my hometown, we have the Halloween parade on the 31st of October, so everyone trick-or-treats on the 30th, with Mischief Night on the 29th.) I just need to convince my dad to carve a pentagram on my pumpkin. Which will be difficult to do for personal reasons: the people who lived in our house before we did were murderers who robbed and killed someone living down the street. They also fancied themselves Wiccans. When my parents bought the house there were pentagrams painted all over what became my bedroom. So they naturally associated Neo-Paganism with evil. In eigth grade my friend gave me a pair of pentagram earrings and they flipped shit. I've since educated my mom, but my dad is stubborn about things like this. Funny, because he's a total agnostic and hates going to just Christmas services, while my mom is yearning to go back to church regularly...

Speaking of church, Warwa does not want The Baby to be baptized in the Catholic faith, which sucks because Bel's family is Catholic and Bel has more than once expressed interest in going to Mass. I wish I was already ordained; I could do the baptizing in the name of whatever they wanted.

EDIT: I realize that the "proper" term for menorah, know that Israel is reformed, is "hannukiah". This is an ancient Hebrew word meaning "kill yourself". Stupid, stupid name. "Menorah" it was in my childhood, and "menorah" it shall forever be.

Ah, yes

If you look at the black hole, you'll see a small blob looking like Massachusetts rotated counter-clockwise. That little blob is my niece or nephew.
