Turning 19's odd. There's no big landmark occassion. You've been able to vote for a year, you haven't gotten out of the teenager years, and you still can't drink. So I figured I'd do it up proper. Sunday, 9/21/08, Luna turns 19! w00t! Lashings of ginger beer for everyone!

Man I wish my flist lived close to me. The nearest ones to me live in Pennsylvania. Wait, I lied. The nearest one to me lives in my hometown, but he can't make it. The farthest one from me lives in Germany. :( Seriously, I'd love to grab you all and take you to the Faire.

Fulfilling Day

First of all, I'd like to give a "happy birthday" to my Daddy, who is 48 today.

Second, I am very happy that I finally got a weekend-day off to go pumpkin-picking. We went up to E's (not the real name, of course), where we've gone for 20 years. It's this little family-run farm/store where you can pick pumpkins and suchlike, buy seasonal stuff (like pie and holiday-themed cookies and corn muffins), and feed/pet the goats. Moreover, it's set in this area that used to be just farms and plantations, so the surrounding houses are gorgeous and humongous, and the properties are rolling meadows and farmsteads, complete with livestock. And it's not far from one of those cities-disguised-as-a-small-town (I live near one of those, too). In other words, it's idyllic. That's the kind of place where I want to spend my life. I felt the most in-touch with nature and closest to my family at the farmstead than at home. It's where I belong.

And then we went up to Warwa and Bel's, where we visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bel's Parents, Auntie Carol, Grandma, Cousin-Who's-Been-To-Japan, and Bel's friend Matt. I spent the day either lying down (I haven't been sleeping properly due to work and early classes), out on the swings (you'd never know I was 18 with the way I love their swingset), or shooting pool (which I am teh suxxor at).

So all-in-all, I've had a very good day.

It's my birthday!
